Marcus Anderson - Saxophonist...
Even before I landed I was treated like royalty. I've never been to an event or work with so much gratefulness and love from the staff and people. Everything was first class from my pickup to check in to the band with the hospitality and friendship. I felt as if I was right at home with Jin Jeans Presents. I travel all over the world but I gotta say this is definitely in my top 5 places that I've been that has shown me the true meaning of courteousness.
I performed at a Jin Jeans Productions event in June at "The New Orleans Jazz Market". I sent my music a few weeks in advance to the local musicians acquired for my performance. I'm used to picking up bands in different cities. It's a way to discover great new musicians but it can also be treacherous as you never know quite what to expect!
Upon my arrival at the airport in New Orleans I was met by the extremely courteous driver "Antoine" who engaged me with conversation of some history of the city. The hotel accommodations were wonderful and I was able to enjoy the evening in the city as I arrived the day before my concert.
The day of the show I met the band for the first time and got to see the venue. I was floored by both! The musicians were all very young but arrived completely prepared, and had me smiling from the first downbeat.
Jin Jeans Productions then took Elan Trotman (who plays sax) and me to the local eatery Neyow's where were treated to a fantastic meal.
The show that night was a completely joyful experience due to the professionalism of the production crew, the band, and in no small part to the beautiful people of New Orleans that came to the event. Post-concert I had the opportunity to meet the proprietor of the venue Irvin Mayfield. It was a total pleasure to work with a team of people ambitiously seeking to share the great American art form known as "jazz"!
Elan Trotman...What better way to experience New Orleans for the very first time than with the warm hospitality of the Jin Jeans Presents Series. It's always refreshing to work with concert promoters that not only have a genuine love for music and their fans, but they make their artists a priority. Performing there was an enjoyable experience, and the fans were extremely receptive to our music. Our genre needs more of this in order to keep the format evolving and fresh. Congrats Jin Jeans on the start of a long career in concert promotion.
Lin Rountree...I can't begin to describe how honored I was to have been invited to play a show in the inaugural Jin Jeans Jazz series. The entire experience was classy top to bottom. From the soulful and funky house band "The SpeakerBox Experiment" led by Nick Mercadel who backed me onstage, to the inspiring Venue, to the enthusiastic concert patrons, I felt right at home. Likewise the Jin Jeans family were gracious hosts, I wanted for nothing. I absolutely cannot wait until they call upon me again to perform for the good folks in New Orleans.
